Before being sold to tanners by traders and/or collectors, the "raw skins" are classified by choice according to species/breeds, weight and quality of the skin.

this step is generally entrusted to experts in the field with high-level expertise. who know the material and have, during their career, developed the expertise that will allow them to classify and identify the different qualities and defects of each skin.
